What can we help you with?
  • How do I upload products using FTP?

  • Uploading products via FTP is quick and easy. Just follow the steps below.

    1. Activate Your JustParts FTP Account (One time only)
Before you can begin transferring your product files using FTP, you must activate your secure JustParts FTP account by clicking the 'Activate Your JustParts FTP Account' button found on the FTP Upload page. You’ll only have to do this once.

    2. Review Our Guidelines and Download a Product Template
Before you start adding your product data, review our guidelines and specifications to learn about the different types of data we require. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you download an Excel, CSV or TXT product template. To review the product guidelines and to download a template, click one of the links below.

    3. Register Your Data Feed (One time only for each unique feed)
Register your data feed by clicking the 'Register a Data Feed' found on the FTP Upload Page. This tells us which files you’re sending. As soon as we detect your file in your FTP directory, we’ll process it automatically. If you don’t register the feed before transferring the file, your file will be deleted from your FTP directory and will not be processed.

    4. Add Your Product Data
Once you have reviewed our guidelines, start adding your product data to your file.

    5. Save and Transfer Your Product File
After you’ve added all of your data to your product file, save the file as a .txt (tab-delimited), .csv or as an Excel file (.xls or .xlsx). Then transfer the product file to your secure JustParts FTP folder. To learn more about sending files via FTP, click here.

      IMPORTANT:
The name of the product file you transfer to your JustParts FTP directory MUST EXACTLY MATCH the name of your data feed you registered in step 3. For example, if you registered the data feed ‘justparts_headlights.csv’, then the file you transfer must be named ‘justparts_headlights.csv’. If it has a different name, your product file will not be processed.

      HELPFUL HINT:
To make it easier for you to manage your data, we strongly encourage that you upload individual files containing all the same types of products. For example, if you are uploading alternators, engines and headlights, we suggest that you create three separate files: alternators.csv, engines.csv and headlights.csv. That way, if you want to make changes to a particular type of product, you won't affect the other products listed on JustParts.
